On December 7, 2021, the sixth had a live performance in the Auditorium. Candice, the sixth grade social studies teacher, organized the performance and musician Shevy Smith supported us with writing and performing songs about the struggles of Afghan women.
All sixth grade cohorts (Fire, Water, Wind, Earth) performed as well as BNS fifth graders. Sixth grader Desire shared, “It [the performance] was very good and I enjoyed it so much, I learned new things”. Another response coming from sixth grader Vivian added, ”It was very inspirational and amazing to work with her [Shevy]. I learned a lot about the unit in a very fun and unique way.”
