Family and Support
The Lady Wolves not only made history by going to playoffs for the first time in 16 years but they boosted the attendance for girls basketball at BCS as well. According to a conducted by The Sisters in Sports Research, many students expressed a preference for attending basketball games this year compared to previous years. The team has received encouraging statements as a result of their success, including “I will be at your game” and “I can’t believe we’re winning this year.” The Lady Wolves would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all BCS students, staff, family, and friends who attended the games. They recognize that without this support, they would not have made it so far.
A Special Send Off
The Lady Wolves would like to thank Akeelah Hargett and Renayah Fernandez for their invaluable contributions to the team. As co-captains, their leadership was critical to the team’s success this year. Without these two ladies, who have been on the team since middle school, there might not have been a team this year. Before their graduation, Akeelah Hargett and Renayah Fernandez played pivotal roles in the Lady Wolves’ participation in two big tournaments, gaining recognition from other teams and organizations. Thank you Akeelah and Renayah for walking so the ladies could run. BCS wishes you the best in your future journeys.
As the Lady Wolves reflect on the past year and look towards the future, they will carry with them the inspiring words of Coach Tarik A.: “Instead of wanting to win, we expected to win. When you expect something, it means you are prepared. Do the work and expect to win!!” These words serve as a reminder of the importance of preparation, hard work, and unwavering belief in oneself.
