It’s Spring!!! To be honest I find spring to be a weird kind of season. One day is hot. Another day is warm. And, yet, the other day is cold. Other people seem to love the variety that spring brings. It allows you to switch up their style and to wear different outfits, more than during other seasons where you’re typically wearing the same style of clothes everyday.
Tenth grader Janiya had this to say about spring fashion, “My favorite thing about Spring Fashion is not having to wear big jackets. My favorite clothes to wear are jeans and short sleeve shirts and maybe a jean jacket.”
It could be difficult to transition from winter clothes to warmer clothes. To accessrize in the winter, you can just add both color and warmth to your heavy clothes because you never know if the weather might change. On the other hand, the spring wardrobe looks like breathable clothes that will allow you to cool off on warm afternoons.
Layering is the staple of Spring. Layered clothing is all about creating balance between colors and of course styling. People focus more on matching colors with an outfit than mixing textures with their outfit. Textures can add dimension. You can use many different materials than using one single material throughout the whole outfit. A reminder to make sure they go together!
One of the easiest ways to discover the key to layering clothes in the spring is to balance loose and tight garments. The general rule is to wear one style on top, the opposite on the bottom, and use a piece to bring it all together. For example, for women, style a western graphic t-shirt that has a looser fit, and pair it with a tight, short skirt. Then, add a long, flowing cardigan over the top to balance the loose and tight components of the outfit. This method will help you create a more proportional outfit that compliments your body type (missmoorestyle).
