I watch with my evergreen eyes
how the sky shifts and sways, blending
the whites and grays of the clouds and buildings
with the vibrant morning magentas and yellows.
I watch as the sky, aligned perfectly with the sea,
watches me. The colors telling me a story of light.
Glistening, reflecting through my eyes to my
Shapeless soul sea, it shares glimpses
Of all I dream to be.
For if these forest eyes can witness
The gorgeous visual melody of the earth’s colors,
blending, ever so naturally; freely?
Why can’t my colors blend too?
Can’t they shift and shade the blank, whiteness constantly displayed?
Highlight the glorified mixes of browns and greens,
Yellows and blues?
But they tell me No. That they will
always accept me.
Just as long as it blends according to their minds
Paint over the unpretty and make it impeccable.
Make your life easier.
Blend easier.
For you are not the Sky or the Sea.
You must blend with the monotone of society.
